Once started I just couldn’t put the book down
I have read all of Heidi’s books and, in my opinion, they just get better if that’s possible! I love that characters from previous books are intertwined in this latest one. The whole story is so believable and after finishing I found myself wanting to search out Prosperous Place and go and see the Winter Garden for myself! Highly recommended. Can’t wait for the next book. Dawn xx

Loved it.
I'm packing my case and moving to Nightingale Square. I loved this book. It's the perfect book for escaping to when these days all you read about and see on television is miserable. It also gave me ideas on how to survive these winter months in depressing partial lockdown.....Cassam

Lovely festive read

So nice to return to Nightingale Square and catch up with old characters and new ones but you can easily read this a stand alone book.
This book tells the story of Freya who arrives to help out to turn the garden at Prosperous Place into a Winter Garden. She has a run in with another new resident and story tells us the ups and downs in their friendship/relationship.
Will the garden get finished in time and will everyone get a happy ending?
Thank you so much to Net Galley for my advance copy of this book but I will also be purchasing this book to add to my collection of Heidi Swain paperbacks. misstheatre

Grab a cuppa, curl up and lose yourself for another exciting read by the Queen of great storytelling.
We return to Nightingale Square for another fab adventure.....cakequeen

Wonderful book.
Heidi Swain does it again. A wonderful book from beginning to end. I was transported back to Prosperous Place and Nightingale Square. Back to all the characters I had met in previous books. My excitement at reading this book continued as I started reading the first page total gripped from the start. It took me just over 8 hour's to complete. The new characters Freya and Nell her adoptive dog gripped me straight away.....Mrs H Edwards

Cosy Read
Heidi Swain is an amazing author. She always writes such cosy books, and with this one being winter themed, it didn’t disappoint!
It follows the lovely story from Nightingale Square, and all of the characters are so lovely. Her writing has a warmth to it that makes me want to keep reading.
Definitely recommend this one if you want an easy read. A perfect distraction from the world!.....Emma

A lovely winters tale
I should say that Heidi Swain is one of my favourite authors and Poppy’s Recipe for Life is one of my all time favourite reads, so when I opened this book to find us returning to Nightingale Square my heart skipped a bit with shear delight. I was so excited to catch up with old friends and see how the Grow-well Garden had progressed. Easy to read and gentle on the heart, Heidi’s story telling in this book is just as lush as her previous books. I was instantly transported and couldn’t help but turn the pages.....Amazon Customer

Bringing the outside in!

There is something reassuring about Heidi Swain's novels. They take you to places that you just don't want to visit, but also live and the beauty is you get to go back again and again.
This her latest novel is no exception and I am back in Nightingale Square which you can read more about in Sunshine and Sweet Peas in Nightingale Square and Poppy's Recipe for Life.....Jo D'Arcy

The most perfect Christmas
Oh my goodness, this was such a gorgeous book!
So happy to be back visiting Nightingale Square, catching up with old friends and new!
I loved Finn! Just my type and it was interesting finding out his back story and why he acts the way he does with Freya .
I loved the challenge she had to help create the Winter garden for Luke and Kate, and how Whynthorpe was brought into the story at times too.
As always I became very attached to the characters, especially Nell, the whippet cross bedlington, whose characteristics Heidi described so well.
Such an utter joy to read, I couldn’t put it down!
I will definitely read this again at Christmas, it was such a stunning and uplifting book that filled me with the joy of the season.
I also liked how the condition of SAD was mentioned and how important mental health and self care was promoted all throughout the story. More than ever we need to take this on, and there were many excellent ideas on how to lift your spirits, and those around you in the book.
Just so so fabulous. Sue Baker

Autumnal Bonanza
Having read all of Heidi's books they just get better and better going back to meet the gang at Nightingale Square with the two newbies Freya and Finn it really is quite magical. I actually felt as if I was there, doing the classes in the run up to christmas. Doing all sorts of christmassy stuff this is a book that will lift your soul and have it soaring full of joy I have nothing but praise for this totally amazing soul searching EXTRAVAGANZA. This book gave me ALL the feels!!!!!!!
This is the first time we’ve been here for Christmas and it has everything we have come to expect from a Heidi Christmas book. Winterfest is definitely something I could get on board with. I loved the sound of the sessions and I wish there was something like that I could go to. I also always love going to Christmas Markets and for obvious reasons, there won’t be any this year. This really saddens me so I really enjoyed visiting them through this story.....Emma

Gorgeous read
Wow, what a gloriously gorgeous read!
Heidi Swain created another book that makes you want to curl up and devour it quickly but you also don't want it to end.
I do adore a Christmas book and have enjoyed every moment of reading The Winter Garden. I wanted to be in Nightingale Square and the garden at Prosperous Place.
The characters were all brilliant, funny and lovable....special mention goes out to Finn and Nell, of course!! I love how there are recurring characters and we get a glimpse into their post story lives!
The Winter Garden follows Freya on her journey to find her ideal place in life and reinforces how important nature is for our happiness and well-being (something I've learnt myself over the past few years!)
A delightful pick me up read, thank you Heidi Swain. Lucy

Warm festive story that leaves you with a glow
Wow what can I say?! Heidi never fails to whisk me away from what’s going on in my life to the wonderful location in her book that always leaves me with a warm glow from the setting and the characters themselves. It’s only August and this story as left me looking forward to Christmas already and left me with that warm Christmas feeling. Yet again I didn’t want the story to end as I always feel with Heidi’s stories. I already can’t wait for the next one! Just amazing!! Melissa Connor

Wow!

This is book three in the Nightingale Square series. I have not read any of the previous books in the seres, but this don’t not stop me from loving the book!
I loved reading about the residents of Nightingale Square and would love to get to know them better by reading the first two books in the series.
This is a heartwarming winter read, set in the run up to Christmas.
Rating: 5/5
I think that I may have found one of my favourite authors in Heidi and will highly recommend her books to my friends..... Kirsty
Magical, Christmas aroma
My favourite time of the year and my first Christmas novel read this year. Heidi Swain has not disappointed me either. The Winter Garden is full of magic. Freya needed a new job. Driving from Suffolk to Norfolk one day the radio station jumped to a Norfolk station. As she listens, she hears about Nightingale Square. She decides to investigate this wonderful sounding place.....Lyndsey King

Heidi's books get better and better

I am always a sucker for Heidi Swain books and this one is no exception.
Full of winter wonders, mulled wine and love. Not too christmassy for those who are not keen on Christmas reads... More of a winter dream.
Just enough sparkle that would rival a winters morning frost.
Freya fuller is a wonderful character as is Finn. Together they seem to rub each other up the wrong way although they do really want to be friends!
Heidi's writing style always gets me wanting to read one more page, this book was definitely no different.. Now I just have to wait for the next instalment.. Hurry up please Heidi!! Becky S

Must read this

What a fab book, held my interest from the first page right until the last. The idea has been very well thought out and it does include the garden as well as the characters. The idea of the winterfest was a great and I enjoyed it very much. I am giving this novel 5 stars and it deserves every one of them. Well written and I recommend it to all. Mrs J Beavis

Winter wonderland ..magical
The Winter Garden returns to Nightingale Square and introduces new characters Freya and Finn along with the characters of the previous two Nightingale Square books.
Although the ending if this type if book is usually predictable, the joy of Heidi Swain's books is that she always takes you on a wonderful journey with fantastic writing which makes you feel you are actually there.
As with all previous Heidi Swain books this is a definite 5 stars and is highly recommended. Zamm
